Funeral arrangements set for Georgia Powers

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Funeral arrangements for the first woman and the first African-American elected to the Kentucky Senate have been finalized.

Sen. Georgia Powers will lie in state at the Capitol Rotunda in Frankfort from 1 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4 with a family service to be held at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held that evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at St. Stephen Baptist Church, located at 1018 S. 15th Street in Louisville.

Her funeral will be held at the church at 11 a.m. on Friday.
