Funeral Arrangements Announced for Lexington Photographer “Woody” Phillips

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Funeral services have been announced for William “Woody” Phillips, a beloved Lexington photographer known for his kindness, warmth, and dedication to the community.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Sand Spring Baptist Church, located at 1616 Harrodsburg Road in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. Burial will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.

Visitation will take place at the church on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., and again on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

The family asks that, in honor of Woody, attendees wear University of Kentucky attire.

Memorial contributions in his memory are suggested to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.

As previously reported, Phillips passed away early Thursday morning after facing ongoing health challenges over the past several months. He was 72 years old.

Woody Phillips was widely known throughout Lexington for capturing meaningful moments at community events and for the genuine kindness he brought to every interaction.
