Funeral arrangements announced for 17-year-old who died in farming accident
CLARK COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) — Funeral arrangements have been announced for a Clark County student who died in a farming accident last weekend.
Ryan Phelps’ visitation will be held on Dec. 19 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Central Baptist Church in Winchester.
His service will be held on Dec. 20 at 10 a.m. at the church.
Burial will follow at Clarmont Memorial Gardens.
Ryan died on Dec. 16 after a farming accident. He was 17.
He was a student at George Rogers Clark High School, a member of ROTC and had recently enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.
He’s survived by his parents, two siblings, grandparents and many extended family members.
A support group for his family has started a “meal train” to help cook or buy meals for his family.
“I am organizing a meal train for Maria and her family. Ryan was loved by so many! He was such a kind, fun spirit and will be missed dearly. This is a small way to pull some burden off of the family during this hard time. If you can not do a meal please pray for all who loved him,” the page reads.

An account has also been created at Stock Yards Bank for people to donate toward funeral expenses for Ryan.
Donations can be made to the account For the Benefit of Ryan Phelps at any Stock Yards location in Kentucky.
The Clark County Public School System released the following statement after his death:
“This unspeakable tragedy has significantly affected our entire school district community, particularly our high school student body. The coming days and weeks will be extremely hard for our students. Counselors and community grief response professionals will be available as long as necessary for anyone who may need or want help or any type of assistance surrounding this loss.”
