Fundraisers and events for Officer Daniel Ellis

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – There has been an outpouring of support after Officer Daniel Ellis was killed in the line of duty this week. Here are a list of ways you can help:

  • Officer Ellis Fund
    Donations can be made to the “Officer Ellis Fund” at any Peoples Bank location in Richmond or Berea.
    Donations can also be mailed to Peoples Bank, PO Box 219, Berea, KY 40403.
  • Casa Cafe and Casa Fiesta in Richmond
    Donating 10% of their sales to the Ellis Family from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 7.
  • Thin Blue Line wristbands
    The Boutique at Merle Norman will be selling “Thin Blue Line” wristbands for $3 each.
    All proceeds will benefit the Ellis Family.
    The wristbands should arrive and be available for sale on Friday, Nov. 13.
  • Cut-a-thon Fundraiser
    “A Salon” is hosting a cut-a-thon fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8.
    Haircuts for men, women, and children will be $15 each and 100% of the money raised will be donated to the Ellis Family.
    A Salon is located at 415 Leighway Drive in Richmond (EKU Bypass #3 behind Chase Bank). For more information, call 859-544-0404.
  • T-Shirts
    First Gear in Richmond is offering t-shirts to support the Ellis Family.
    Shirts are $10 each. Click HERE for more information.
  • T-Shirts
    Friends of the Ellis Family have set up a fundraising site selling t-shirts as well. Click HERE for details about those shirts.
  • Open Gym Proceeds
    Excel Gymnastics in Richmond is donating all proceeds from its open gyms this week to the Ellis Family.
    All Richmond Police Department families will be admitted free.
    Open gym times are:
    Friday – Preschool from noon to 1:30 p.m.; All ages from 7 to 10 p.m.
    Saturday – 5th grade and under from 5 to 8 p.m.
