Fulton Road extension opens in Winchester, expected to ease traffic congestion

WINCHESTER, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — The City of Winchester is celebrating the opening of a new road extension designed to ease traffic flow.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for Wednesday for the Fulton Road Extension project, which connects Professional Avenue to Market Street. The new roadway links College Park to Fulton Road at its intersection with Bypass Road, creating a parallel route to Lexington Avenue.

On Tuesday, crews prepared for the grand opening by painting curbs in no-parking areas. City officials say the extension is expected to help relieve congestion in the busy corridor.
