Fugitive found hiding in home, 9 arrested
LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Laurel Co. Sheriff says that 9 people have been arrested after deputies say they found a fugitive hiding in a home on Arthur Ridge Road.
Acting on a tip, deputies say they headed to the home at about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, investigating a reported missing person – Thomas Scott – that was also a wanted fugitive from Butler Co., Ohio.
8 people were in the home when they arrived, say deputies, and all said that Scott wasn’t there. Deputies say, however, that they found Scott hiding in a back bedroom.
Everyone at the home was arrested and taken to the Laurel Co. Detention Center. They were charged with the following:
- 50-year-old Thomas Scott – Fugitive, charged in Butler Co., OH on charges of child neglect. Ohio law enforcement say he will be extradited.
- 53-year-old Charles Scott – Hindering prosecution or apprehension, and public intoxication, and disorderly conduct. Deputies say Charles Scott caused a disturbance while being arrested.
- 47-year-old Anthony Scott – Hindering prosecution or apprehension, and public intoxication.
- 42-year-old Billie Coffey – Hindering prosecution or apprehension, and public intoxication.
- 52-year-old Debra Scott – Hindering prosecution or apprehension, and public intoxication.
- 21-year-old Zachary King – Hindering prosecution or apprehension, and public intoxication.
- 51-year-old Wilma Miller – Hindering prosecution or apprehension, and public intoxication.
- 23-year-old James Clark – Hindering prosecution or apprehension, and public intoxication.
- 35-year-old Rebecca Roach – Hindering prosecution or apprehension, and public intoxication, promoting contraband, and disorderly conduct. Deputies say as Roach was being taken into the detention center, she began to create a disturbance in an area where children and other persons were nearby. Additionally, deputies say that when Roach was searched at the detention center, staff found a baggie of marijuana on her.
