Friend remembers 17-year-old killed in farming accident in Winchester
WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) — A community is remembering 17-year-old from Winchester.
One of Ryan Phelp’s friend’s spoke on the kind of person he was, and what he’ll miss most.
“He was a big jokester,” says Ethan Smith, a friend of Ryan’s.
Adding that, “he was one of the most hard working, just any type of person I knew he always wanted to help others, he was just generally nice guy.”
Ethan Smith also shared his fondest memory with Phelps, adding that his personality was unmatched.
“We were sitting there in a welding class actually. And I went to go sit down in my chair and he had pulled it out from under me, man. I fell so hard,” he recalls.
Phelps was a student at George Rogers Clark High School, Phelps died on Saturday after sustaining injuries from a farming accident.
The district says, anyone wishing to help pay for his funeral can donate money for his family at any Stock Yards Bank in the state.
A support group has also started a meal train to help cook or buy meals for the family.
