Free mulch giveaway in Fayette County

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Starting your spring garden? The City of Lexington is giving away free mulch Saturday morning.

The city is giving away yard waste collected by Lexington’s Division of Waste Management.

Fayette County residents can collect up to one pickup truckload of mulch from 8a.m. to noon Saturday March 24th at the former city landfill.

A smaller self-serve area is available to those picking up smaller amounts.

The giveaway is limited to Fayette County residents only, and participants must show a drivers license with a Lexington address.

Participants are asked to follow signs to enter the landfill through Jimmie Campbell Drive at 1631 Old Frankfort Pike.
