Free dental day scheduled for Jan. 9
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – On Saturday, January 9, several area dentists, hygienists and assistants will join forces to provide dental services to uninsured patients of Central and Eastern Kentucky. Services will include fillings, cleanings and minor extractions. No cosmetic procedures will be offered; only services that rid the patient of disease and/or pain. Over 700 Fayette County residents are currently on waiting lists at local free dental clinics; this high number is what motivated additional local dentists to provide free care to their neighbors.
The Dental Day will take place at Commonwealth Smiles and Drs. Lange, Rider and Reynolds, located in Lexington, KY. Patients will be seen from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm on a first come, first serve basis at Commonwealth Smiles, 1636 Nicholasville Road, Suite 5, Lexington, KY 40503. Patients must arrive prior to 1:30 pm in order to be seen.
To qualify for services, the patient must not have dental insurance and have an income that is 200% or below the federal poverty guidelines. Dental Day will serve patients of all ages.
The dentists who are selflessly donating their time are: Dr. Gina Johnson-Higgins; Dr. Mark King; Dr. Jessica Kress; Dr. Steve Rider; Dr. Brandon Stapleton; Dr. Kate von Lackum; Dr. John Weaver; and Dr. Allison Wright.
