Two dead after Frankfort church bus crashes into utility pole; Baptist Association asks for prayers
FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — The Franklin Baptist Association is asking the community for prayers after a deadly church bus crash Sunday in Frankfort claimed the lives of two people and injured another.
According to Kentucky State Police, the crash happened at the intersection of East Main Street and Butler Drive. Investigators say the First Corinthian Baptist Church bus struck a telephone pole.
Two passengers — 76-year-old Carolyn Jackson and 81-year-old James Jackson — were fatally injured. Carolyn Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene, while James Jackson later died at the hospital.
The driver of the bus was also taken to a hospital for treatment, though their condition has not been released.
In a statement on Facebook, the Franklin Baptist Association expressed its sorrow over the loss and requested continued prayers for the victims and their families.
