Frankfort Police Trunk or Treat and Halloween reminders

FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Halloween week has arrived, and the Frankfort Police Department is reminding families to have fun — but stay safe.

The department’s annual Trunk or Treat event will take place Thursday, October 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Capital View Park. To prepare, the park will be closed from noon until 5:30 p.m., reopening just in time for the festivities.

City-wide trick-or-treating follows on Friday, October 31, also from 6 to 8 p.m. Police are encouraging children and parents to stay visible with flashlights or reflective tape, travel in groups, stick to sidewalks, and only visit well-lit homes.

Drivers are reminded to slow down, avoid distractions, and watch carefully for children who may be crossing streets or wearing darker costumes.
