FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) -A Frankfort resident is preparing to embark on a new chapter in life after striking it rich with a million-dollar win from a Kentucky Lottery ticket. Opting to remain anonymous, the fortunate individual purchased the winning scratch-off ticket in late April at Kroger on US 127 Hwy South.
Upon scanning the ticket’s barcode, an electrifying message flashed across the screen, confirming that the ticket was a winner, and when he scratched the ticket, he learned it was worth $1 million. Overwhelmed with disbelief, the winner remarked, “I thought I was dreaming, and I was going to wake up.”
Choosing the cash payment option, the lucky winner received a hefty sum of $871,000, which was reduced to $627,120 after taxes. With this windfall, the winner has immediate plans to pay off his house and looks forward to indulging in more leisurely activities, particularly golfing, during his newfound spare time.
