Frankfort man arrested after hotel standoff

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police in Frankfort say they have arrested a man after a standoff at the Bluegrass Inn.

Officers say that an investigation into two shootings on Saturday produced a “person of interest” – 27-year-old Harrison “Blake” Armstrong, of Frankfort.  As they continued investigating, officers determined that Armstrong had outstanding warrants from Frankfort and Boone counties.  Police say they also discovered that Armstrong was staying at the Bluegrass Inn on Versailles Road.

When they arrived at the hotel, officers say Armstrong refused to come out.  19-year-old Destiney Manley, Armstrong’s girlfriend, did come out of the room, but officers say she was uncooperative.

Negotiators tried to get Armstrong out of the room for over an hour, and then used chemical munitions to try and get him to come out, also to no avail.  Around 5:00 a.m., police say officers entered the room and found Armstrong hiding in an attic area above the bathroom.  Armstrong was arrested, and a handgun was recovered from the scene.

Armstrong was charged with the outstanding warrants along with resisting arrest.  More charges are expected.

Destiney Manley was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension.
