Frankfort Independent Schools move to NTI days due to widespread illness
FRANKFORT, KY. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Frankfort Independent Schools will be closed for in-person classes today through Friday due to widespread illness impacting both students and staff.
District officials say the closures will be designated as Nontraditional Instruction Days six, seven and eight.
Teachers will communicate assignments and updates with families through ParentSquare and email.
During the closure period, school buildings will undergo deep cleaning and disinfecting.
Officials are also encouraging families to take preventative steps at home, including washing outerwear and backpacks and following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to help limit the spread of illness.
Classes are expected to resume following the NTI period.
