Four puppies found dead outside Powell Co. Animal Shelter
STANTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Four puppies were found dead outside the Powell County Animal Shelter Tuesday, according to the shelter.
The shelter says someone dropped off a pregnant dog Monday evening after the facility closed.
The dog gave birth to six puppies but the shelter says four of them froze to death.
The shelter says the mom and surviving two puppies are doing well.
Kentucky’s abandonment law was broken, as the animals were left outside, having to “fight for pleasure or profit.”
The shelter says the puppies have foster homes waiting for them once they are weaned. The mother will be adopted once the puppies are healthy.
According to the shelter, the case is still under investigation.
