Four people, including two children, injured in Nicholasville drive-by shooting
NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Police in Nicholasville are investigating a drive-by shooting that left four people injured, including two young children, late Tuesday night.
The shooting happened near the intersection of U.S. 27 and Brannon Road, according to Nicholasville Police.
Officers say the vehicle carrying the victims was struck by at least 22 bullets.
A 4-year-old and a 6-year-old, along with two adults, were taken to UK Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“The priority at this point is to find the person responsible, resolve the issue, because we have every reason to believe that the violence is going to escalate,” said Assistant Chief Matt Marshall. “We were fortunate last night that no one lost their life, but if this continues and we don’t make an arrest, I’m afraid that someone’s going to get hurt or even killed.”
Investigators believe the shooting may be tied to a feud and say the case is being investigated in coordination with federal agencies.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Nicholasville Police Department.
