“Forward, Together”: Beshear, Coleman sworn in during Inaugural Address at the State Capitol

FRANKFORT, Ky (WTVQ)- The celebrations continued in Frankfort all day Tuesday for the 62nd Gubernatorial Inauguration, as Governor Andy Beshear and Lieutenant Governor Jacqueline Coleman were sworn in for the second time as the state’s top leaders.

The inaugural address wrapped up on state capitol steps with a ceremony full of pomp and circumstance.

The theme “Forward, Together” was evident in the message Governor Beshear spread as he took the stage in front of thousands.

The inaugural address including guest speakers and musical performances.

Governor Beshear looked back at the challenges the state has faced during past four years, including devastating natural disasters and the Covid 19 pandemic.

“Neighbors pulling neighbors from their basements. To carrying fellow Kentuckians through the current. Thank you to our National Guard and first responders for their amazing response,” said Beshear.

Beshear also recapped economic development projects, record job creation, and infrastructure.

“We’ve secured federal funding to run high speed internet to every community,” said Beshear.

As Beshear and Coleman now prepare to continue their job at the Capitol, they’re pledging to help move the state forward together.

“Right now, the eyes of the country are on us. They’re on Kentucky. And the next four years are our chance to lead and to move forward together. Thank you. God bless the Commonwealth, and God bless the United States of America,” said Beshear.

Inauguration Day also featured a breakfast, worship service, parade, and ball.
