Williamsburg pharmacist convicted of unlawful drug distribution
LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Officials with the Department of Justice say a Williamsburg pharmacist has been convicted on seven counts of unlawful distribution of controlled substances.
They say 53-year-old Kimberly Jones owned and operated Kim’s Hometown Pharmacy from 2008-2018.
According to evidence at trial, Jones repeatedly filled prescriptions for significant quantities of Oxycodone and other controlled substances from a variety of out-of-state doctors. Evidence also showed that Jones dispensed controlled substances to certain patients who did not have prescriptions at the time the drugs were dispensed.
Jones faces a maximum of 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $1,000,000 and a term of supervision following the sentence.
