Former Wildcat Amoore to miss entire WNBA season due to injury
Amoore was drafted sixth overall by Washington Mystics in 2025 WNBA Draft
WASHINGTON, D.C. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- Former Kentucky women’s basketball point guard, Georgia Amoore, will miss the 2025 WNBA season after undergoing a successful surgery on an ACL injury she sustained in practice days after she was drafted sixth overall by the Washington Mystics.
Amoore was a key part of UK Head Coach Kenny Brooks’ revitalization of the women’s basketball program last season after transferring from Virginia Tech with him. She averaged 19.6 points, 6.9 assists and 1.0 steals per game during the 2024-25 season.
Notably, she scored 43 points in a game against Oklahoma tying Kentucky’s single-game scoring record.
