Former UK Football Player Vincent “Sweet Pea” Burns dies at 43
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Vincent “Sweet Pea” Burns, a three-year starter for UK football from 2002-2004, passed away on Wednesday.
Sweet Pea was a force on the UK defensive line; he finished his career with 168 tackles and 37 tackles for loss.
He was a two-year captain and was named All-SEC defensive team twice in 2002 and 2003. He then went on to play professionally for the Indianapolis colts.
He was 43 years old. No cause of death has been released.
