Former Secretary of State’s father sentenced for making illegal campaign contributions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ/Herald Leader) – A federal judge sentenced Jerry Lundergan to 21 months in prison Thursday for making illegal campaign contributions.

Lundergan is the father of former Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes.

Grimes was fined $150,000.

According to the Herald Leader newspaper, U.S. District Judge Gregory F. Van Tatenhove also sentenced veteran political consultant Dale Emmons to 3-years probation.

He was fined $50,000.
