Former mayor of Lexington runs for the office again
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A former mayor of Lexington wants the job again.
Teresa Isaac filed to run for mayor of Lexington Tuesday – just 10 minutes shy of the deadline to file to run as a candidate in Kentucky, according to the Herald-Leader newspaper.
Isaac served as mayor of Lexington from 2002-2006.
She ran for re-election in 2006 but lost to Jim Newberry.
Isaac joins Skip Horine, who ran for mayor in 1993 and 2010, and filed to run 15 minutes before the 4 p.m. filing deadline, former Public Safety Commissioner Ronnie Bastin, former Vice Mayor Linda Gorton, LFCUG Council Member Kevin Stinnett, Ike Lawrence, and William Weyman.
