Former Lexington Fire Chief Returning To Work Tuesday
Lexington’s former Fire Chief Robert Hendricks begins his new job Tuesday as a firefighter and paramedic.
The Fire Department says he will begin by training for up to three weeks, though it could be less than that.
The training is 10-hours a day, Tuesday through Friday.
Hendricks will then begin a typical firefighter schedule of 24 hours on, then 48 hours off.
Hendricks has been in the news a lot over the last year and a half.
Mayor Jim Gray asked Hendricks to resign in 2011.
The mayor said it was because of low morale and budget issues.
But Hendricks filed a complaint saying he should get a city job because of a disability.
