Former LCSO deputy takes plea deal in falsified overtime case

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- A former Laurel County sheriff’s deputy agreed to a plea deal to try to avoid going to prison for falsifying overtime while he was with the department, totaling more than $10,000.

According to court documents cited by the Times-Tribune. 29-year-old Brandon Broughton pleaded guilty to an amended charge with a recommended sentence of four years probation.

The next court date is set for next month, that is where we will find out if the judge agrees with the recommended sentence.
