Former Laurel Co. deputy, wife indicted for theft charges
LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) — A former Laurel County Sheriff’s Office deputy and his wife were indicted on theft charges on Friday.
Joshua Velasco and his wife, Bethany Camille Velasco, were indicted by a grand jury today after an investigation into an alleged theft at the sheriff’s office.
He’s charged with the following:
- 4 counts of complicity to commit theft by deception value of $1,000 or more but less than $10,000
- 1 count of complicity to commit theft by deception $500 or more but less than $1,00
Bethany, 27, is charged with the following:
- 4 counts of theft by deception value of $1,000 or more but less than $10,000
- 1 count of theft by deception $500 or more but less than $1,000
Joshua, 29, was fired from the sheriff’s office after the investigation.
Their next court date is Nov. 27.
