Former Kentucky star Gabriel Diallo breaks through at Wimbledon
WIMBLEDON, UK. (ABC 36 SPORTS) – Former Kentucky tennis standout Gabriel Diallo picked up his first career win at Wimbledon on Monday, defeating Germany’s Daniel Altmaier in straight sets — 6-1, 6-2, 6-4.
The 23-year-old Canadian has now won his opening-round match in four straight Grand Slam appearances.
He’ll face a major test in the second round on Wednesday, going up against world No. 5 and top-ranked American, Taylor Fritz.
