Former Kentucky star Bam Adebayo scores 83, records second-highest game in NBA history
MIAMI, Fl. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – A former Kentucky Wildcat made NBA history Tuesday night. Bam Adebayo exploded for 83 points in the Miami Heat win over the Washington Wizards, recording the second-highest scoring performance in a single NBA game.
The former Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball standout passed Kobe Bryant’s famous 81-point game in 2006, moving into second place on the league’s all-time single-game scoring list.
Only one performance still stands ahead of him: Wilt Chamberlain’s legendary 100-point game in 1962, which remains the NBA record.
Adebayo’s performance is one of the most remarkable scoring nights the league has seen in decades and marks the first time in nearly 20 years a player has reached that level of scoring in a single game.
