Former Kentucky Lawmaker and Secretary John Tilley found not guilty of rape

LEXINGTON, KY. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — On Tuesday, the rape trial against former lawmaker and secretary John Tilley continued in a Fayette County Circuit Courtroom.

On the second day of trial, the prosecution taking witness by witness to the stand.

After closing arguments, the jury began deliberations around 3:15 pm on Tuesday, and five hours later the jury reaching a verdict of not guilty for John Tilley.

Chris Spedding, one of the attorney’s for Tilley spoke after the verdict saying that they are happy they can now move forward.
