Former Jessamine County Judge-Executive Candidate Arrested
The newspaper reported that Nicholasville Police arrested Mark Tucker, 53, just before 10:00 a.m.
The published report said Tucker was wanted by the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia on charges of Impersonating a Peace Officer, Burglary, Possession of a Gun During a Crime and Damaging Property.
The newspaper quoted Jessamine County Sheriff Kevin Corman who said Tucker had served as an unsworn special deputy for a number of years.
In that capacity, Tucker did not have any arrest powers and was used primarily at community events like parades and for traffic control, according to Sheriff Corman.
Tucker ran unsuccessfully against Neal Cassity for Judge-Executive in 2010.
He was lodged in the Jessamine County Detention Center.
