Former Frisch’s exec denies embezzled allegations

CINCINNATI (AP) — A former top executive at the Cincinnati company behind dozens of Frisch’s Big Boy restaurants is denying that he embezzled $3.3 million as the company alleges.

The Cincinnati Enquirer (http://cin.ci/1Gl3Dap ) reports that 52-year-old Michael Hudson in recent court filings refuted all allegations of theft and fraud made by Frisch’s in a civil suit filed against him in January.

Frisch’s said in the lawsuit that it suspects Hudson, a former assistant treasurer, stole $3.3 million over seven years in a systematic fraud. Hudson requested that the civil suit be dismissed in a court filing on Feb. 17.

Frisch’s says it notified law enforcement agencies, launched a special investigation and is adding checks and balances to its accounting systems.

The company owns 95 Big Boy restaurants in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.
