Former employees file lawsuit against Scott County Coroner

SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Three former employees have filed a whistleblower lawsuit against Scott County Coroner John Goble.

In an eight page lawsuit filed by three former employees, at least one of them says they witnessed Goble falsify death certificates. For example, he listed the cause of death as a “heart attack,” because there’s less paperwork involved.

They also claim he put blood samples in refrigerators with food and alcohol.

Goble already faces allegations that he took stolen ammunition and firearms from a KSP officer, transporting moonshine in a county vehicle and used a county car to transport donor eyes from the Kentucky Eye Bank to West Virginia for personal profit.

The lawsuit also claims Goble violated the Kentucky Whistleblower Act.

According to the suit, Goble didn’t allow the three to work the schedule they were hired for and said they would have to sit with him everyday at the coroner’s office if they were to return to work. The suit says he knew they were witnesses against him in his felony court case.
