Former Boyle County Sheriff’s Deputy sentenced
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A former Boyle County Sheriff’s Deputy has been sentenced for using excessive force against individuals he was arresting. The Eastern Kentucky District of the Department of Justice announced that Tanner Abbott was sentenced to 110 months in prison after being convicted of five felonies in March.
The trial revealed that Abbott was involved in at least four incidents where he was either “unnecessarily aggressive” or falsified records while on duty. Additionally, the Department of Justice determined that Abbott obstructed justice by providing false testimony in his defense during the trial.
