Former Berea teacher’s aide back in custody after indictment on rape and abuse charges
BEREA, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A former teacher’s aide accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student is back in custody following a recent indictment.
According to authorities, 34-year-old Samantha Walker was arrested in July in connection with the alleged relationship. She was booked into the Rockcastle County Detention Center Monday night and later transferred to the Madison County Detention Center.
Walker now faces multiple charges, including rape, sexual abuse, tampering with physical evidence, and other sexual offenses involving a minor.
Investigators say the case began in June after school officials raised concerns about Walker, who was employed at Berea Community School, and a student.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and encourage anyone with additional information to come forward.
