For distributing child porn, man sentenced to 10 years federal prison

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – According to United States Attorney Kerry Harvey, a 23-year-old Lexington man was sentenced to ten years in federal prison, after admitting to distributing child pornography.

Chief District Judge Karen Caldwell sentenced Joshua Gilley on Wednesday, ordering him to serve a lifetime term of supervised release, and to register as a sex offender.

The case started when an FBI investigator noticed the pornographic images being shared online, and traced those images to a computer being operated by Gilley.

According to his plea agreement, Gilley distributed many images via email, between 2012 and 2013, relating to underage pornography. Gilley reportedly admitted that a search warrant found thousands of child pornography images in his home, including depictions of sexual abuse on prepubescent children.
