Flu deaths reported in Lexington and across Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Three elderly people have died from the flu, according to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department.

All three people had other health complications at the time of their deaths, but the ultimate cause was the flu, according to the health department.

The state says 8 people have died from the flu statewide this flu season, which typically peaks in late January or early February.

Health officials remind everyone that it’s not too late to get a flu shot.
