Flu deaths go up in Fayette County

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) — The number of flu-related deaths in Fayette County has gone up, according to health officials.

The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department says 13 people have died in the county as a result of the flu – one more than last week.

Kevin Hall, spokesman for the department, says the number of flu-related cases in Fayette County remains at 565.

The number of flu-related deaths statewide is at 132.

The flu season continues through April.
