Flags at half-staff in honor of Pope Francis
FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Governor Andy Beshear has ordered flags across Kentucky to be flown at half-staff in honor of Pope Francis.
According to the governor’s office, flags at all state office buildings will remain at half-staff until sunset on the day of the pope’s interment.
Beshear is also encouraging businesses, schools, and other organizations throughout the Commonwealth to join in the tribute.
Pope Francis, widely known as “the People’s Pope,” is being remembered around the world for his humility, compassion, and message of inclusion.
