Five people dead after Johnson County shooting spree
JOHNSON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)-Five people are dead tonight in Johnson County after a terrible shooting spree.
Saturday afternoon, 911 in Paintsville got a call about the shooting in McKenzie Branch.
The sheriff responded and found two people had been shot and killed in a kitchen.
The sheriff and KSP organized a search.
Eventually, they found the suspect’s car in Paintsville thanks to a tip.
In an apartment nearby they found two more bodies and Joseph Nickell, the man accused of all the murders. He was also dead.
The victims’ names have not been released yet.
