Woodford County Schools Begin Year with New Initiatives and Full Staffing

WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW)— The school year has begun for more than ten districts in the region, including Woodford County. Buses were picking up students across the area this morning.

Officials with Woodford County Public Schools (WCPS) report that the district is well-prepared for the new school year, with all bus routes covered and multiple substitute drivers available.

This year, WCPS will introduce a new high school, set to open in the winter. Additionally, a new phone policy will be implemented at Woodford County Middle School, prohibiting students from bringing phones to class.

The district’s officials expressed excitement for the new year, with many students across the Commonwealth back in class today.
