Firefighters: Richmond Family Dollar fire is suspicious

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ)- Firefighters describe a fire at Family Dollar in Richmond as suspicious.

They say it happened around 4:30 Tuesday afternoon. Crews say they could see smoke coming from the building when they arrived.

According to investigators, the heavy smoke and store merchandise made it difficult for firefighters to get to the fire. They believe it started in the left rear-corner of the store.

Firefighters say no one was hurt. They say there is a lot of water and smoke damage, as well as some structural damage to the buiding. Firefighters say the store will be closed for awhile.

Investigators plan to look at store security video as they work to figure out how the fire started.
