Firefighters Rescue Man Trapped By Fire

Fire investigators are trying to determine what caused a fire at a Lexington home late Thursday night.

Firefighters said they received a call about a person trapped inside a burning home on East Loudon around 10:45 p.m.

When they arrived, they discovered fire on the exterior of the building and a man hanging out a second-story window, unable to get out on his own.

Firefighters said they put a ladder up to the window and the man was able to climb down himself.

The building is a home that’s been split up into apartments.

Firefighters said the other tenants were able to get out safely.
