Firefighters recovering after a crash over the weekend

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Kirksville firefighters are recovering after their firetruck crashed over the weekend.

In a letter posted to social media, the fire department says the crash happened just before 6:30 p.m. Sunday near Moran Mill and Joe Jones Road in Richmond.

Officials say the truck was not responding to an emergency at the time of the crash, and there were no other vehicles involved.

According to the fire department, none of the firefighters involved were seriously hurt, but crew members were taken to a hospital and are in stable condition.
