Firefighters make quick work of couch fire at Lexington motel

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Firefighters say they charged their water hoses, but didn’t even have to turn them on after a small fire broke out at a Lexington motel.

According to the Lexington Fire Department, the fire started on a couch at the Lexington Motor Inn Motel on E. New Circle Rd. just before 8:00 a.m.

Firefighters used fire extinguishers and water cans to put the fire out.

Two people were treated on-scene for minor injuries.

Firefighters say they believe the fire was accidental.
