Four displaced after house fire on Grassland Park in Lexington
UPDATE 12:20 PM: Lexington Fire Department crews were dispatched to 248 Grassland Park around 10:32 a.m. Thursday for reports of a structure fire.
When firefighters arrived, they found smoke and flames visible from the building and upgraded the call to a working structure fire. Crews began an interior attack but later transitioned to a defensive operation as flames spread into the attic and conditions worsened.
According to Battalion Chief Derek Roberts, the fire has since been knocked down, and crews are continuing to search for hot spots. No injuries have been reported, but four people have been displaced as a result of the fire.
Fire investigators remain on scene to determine the origin and cause of the fire.
