Firefighters battle two Lexington kitchen fires at once

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Late Thursday night in Lexington, firefighters say they were on scene at two different house fires at the same time.

According to firefighters, one fire started on Red River Drive around 11:30.

They say it was caused by an unattended stove, but no one was hurt.

They say a second fire also started around 11:30 on Gerald Drive.

Firefighters say it was also caused by an unattended stove.

They say no one was hurt and that home is still livable.

They say cooking is the number one cause of residential fires.
