UPDATE: Cause sought in fire that heavily damages Beach Road home

UPDATE POSTED 6:30 A.M. THURSDAY, MAY 13, 2021

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Firefighters remained on the scene into Thursday morning watching for hotspots and flareups.

Fire officials told WTVQ ABC 36 News the owner of the property was not home and had not been located as of early Thursday. The owner’s car is at the house, but firefighters say they have confirmed he wasn’t inside.

A cause still is under investigation.

According t the fire department, it took crews just under an hour to get the fire under control. Two obstacles crews faced were a large amount of fire on every floor, from the basement to the attic.

As with all fire incidents where fire hydrants are not readily accessible, a lack of water supply slowed the attack. So, crews had to set up a water shuttle operation in order to sustain enough water to put out the fire. A tanker from White Hall Volunteer Fire Department  responded to support the water shuttle operation, according to Battalion Chief Jordan Saas.

No injuries have been reported.
