Firefighters battle early morning house fire on Shug Road in Mount Vernon
MOUNT VERNON, KY. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Firefighters battled a house fire early Sunday morning in Mount Vernon, according to the Mount Vernon Fire Department.
Officials say crews were called around 2 a.m. to assist the Western Rockcastle Volunteer Fire Department with a house fire on Shug Road.
The Mount Vernon Fire Department reports that six members responded to the scene, deploying an engine, a tanker truck and a special response vehicle to help contain the fire.
Authorities say no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
The cause of the fire has not been released.
