Apartment Fire Displaces Four People in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington firefighters were called to an apartment fire in the 2300 block of Sterlington Road around 5:15 p.m. on Friday.

Investigators on the scene told ABC 36 News that it appeared the fire at the fourplex was in the attic.

Thermal imaging cameras were used to find the fire, which was burning behind walls, according to investigators.

Firefighters say there was smoke coming through the vents. They say they knocked out some walls as they looked for hotspots.

Investigators say people were living in three of the four units in the fourplex.

Four people were displaced by the fire, according to firefighters.

No injuries were reported.

As many as 17 fire units were on the scene, according to the Lexington Fire Department’s Incident Status Web page.

Investigators say they don’t know how the fire started.
