Firefighter Hurt Fighting Fire
A firefighter was taken to the hospital following a fire in Anderson County Wednesday evening.
The fire broke out around 7:15 p.m. at a business on Cable Drive in Lawrenceburg.
Officials with the Anderson County Fire Department said when they arrived on the scene, they found heavy, brown smoke billowing out of the building.
It took a while for crews to get inside the building because of some dangerous materials inside, such as propane and oxygen tanks.
The Lawrenceburg and Frankfort Fire Departments came to help.
They said once they got inside, the fire was put out quickly.
The owner of the business and a cleaning person were inside when the fire broke out, but got out safely.
A firefighter was hurt while fighting the blaze. We’re told he was taken to the hospital but is OK. He pulled a muscle in his back while pulling a fire hose through some debris.
No word on what caused the fire. A fire investigator will be on the scene Thursday.
