Fire in Madison County: Possible lightning strike
RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) — Around 4 a.m. on Friday, the Madison County Fire Department was deployed to a house fire on Karla Drive.
The Fire Chief said he knew the area had large houses and a lack of water, and immediately asked for a 2nd alarm response. He said they currently believe the fire was caused by a lightning strike, and that witnesses reported a loud boom just before flames were seen from the roof.
The chief said that, though two people were inside the home, but no one was injured.
